Beware of Internet Business Scams

When you have millions around the world working on the internet, doing business, establishing relationships, transferring money, and what have you, how can internet scams not show up? You must have heard about internet dating scams, internet get rich quick scams, home internet business scams, and internet marketing scams, among many others. Internet business scams have attained gargantuan proportions since money is involved. You could part with your hard earned cash on some fraudulent get-rich-quick business offered on the internet.

The best way to guard against being cheated is to use common sense. There is no short cut to success, especially business success. Any business – both online and offline – requires hard work, planning, and investment. If an internet business promises too much, too quickly, without much effort, and little investment, it should invoke a sense of self-preservation in you. Such offers are nothing but internet business scams.

To avoid getting sucked into an internet business scam, take note of the points mentioned below.

• For a business to be proper, it should involve the marketing of products or services. So, make sure that some product or service is being offered in the business plan. Check the quality of the product, and make sure that it has a ready market. If it is a product that requires immense effort to sell or market, you will be wasting your time trying to promote it.
• MLM business can suck you in by showing huge amount of bank checks that leaders are earning. Don’t get taken in by what others are making from the business. Most MLM business are genuine, but you need to make sure that it is your cup of tea; otherwise, you will lose the money invested. It is important that you have the aptitude of doing MLM business.
• Many companies provide websites, which normally duplicate automatically. If your website is the same as other business associates of that company, how would you look any different from others?
• Check out their business plan carefully, as also the payment plan. Be wary of companies that make payments after a long gap of time. If you are to receive your remuneration after six months, what is the guarantee that the company will not fold its business in that time, and make away with your money?
• Keep away from companies that ask for initial deposits to join business. There is no need to pay money to join a business opportunity.

It is best to avoid online business offers for the simple reason to avoid internet business scams. Exhibiting big checks and account statements are no surety that you will earn such huge amounts.

6 Tips to Writing a Great Online Newsletter

Millions of online newsletters are sent and received in email boxes everyday across the globe. Yet, many are not read, given only a cursory glance, or not even opened. So, to convey your message to the people your email newsletter design should be attractive enough to hold their attention.

- Newsletter Design:  Make sure that your online newsletter is designed in a manner that holds the attention of people whom it is addressed to. They might not like to read the entire content. Design it in a way that they can scan it quickly, and read that part which interests them. For that:

• Use short paragraphs
• Use bulleted points
• Provide plenty of space between topics
• Use bold subtitles, and highlight topics in uppercase

- Write Newsletter Title in Subject Field:  Before sending your email, mention the Newsletter title in the subject field of the email. It is important for the addressee to know what the email is about. That way the addressee can distinguish your email from other junk mail.

- Make a Telling Subject Field:  There is very little time for you to catch the attention of the addressee. So the subject field should have a compelling line to grab the addressee’s attention.

- Provide a Table of Content in the Newsletter:  Don’t expect the addressee to read the entire content. Provide a table of content to help them pick a topic of their interest to begin with. If the subject is interesting, the reader may go through the entire content.

- Circumventing Spam Filters:  Avoid the usage of the word “unsubscribe” in the removal notice. Some spam filters are programmed to flag emails with this word and mark them as possible spam for the reason that spammers are using the “unsubscribe” link which is generally ineffective. Thus, it will help to use the word “Remove”, instead. Certain spam filters flag emails that are used as chain letters. So, use words such as send, pass, further, or share, which are not commonly used.

- Re-check Quality of Newsletter Content:  Make sure that the newsletter content is well-written and comprehendible. Run a spell-check to make sure that you have not misspelled the words. Typing on Microsoft Word with the text editor on will ensure that you are prompted when a mistake occurs. You may use other text editors too.

Most online businesses have failed to take off, despite having impressive websites, for the very basic reason that they did not work out an effective internet marketing strategy. You will have to add a couple of compelling ingredients to your marketing plan to be successful. These include a useful high quality product, and an impressive e-commerce website. So, to spell success you must have a product that will sell, a website, and a marketing plan in place.

- Product  The first step, of course, is to have a product that is on the wanted list of consumers. A market survey will ensure what products are sellable. If you can develop a unique product using your skills, expertise, and experience, you have won half the battle. Developing a product is not as difficult as one may presume. Each one of us has certain special talents that can be put to optimum use to develop a product.

Your product should be unique so that you do not have to face competition. Work out what exactly the customers want and deliver according to their needs. Make sure that you do not give them a reason to reject your product. For that, quality should be top priority. Your internet marketing strategy should consider the needs of a global market. A product that caters to the needs of a large audience spread geographically apart is what you need to develop. Your product could include software, internet services, or specific information.

- Website  After you are sure about your product and developed it, keeping the above in mind, you will need to sell it. You are not required to knock on people’s doors. A website is an appropriate solution to introduce and sell your product across the globe. An e-commerce website is what is required for selling products and services. While discussing your website with the webmaster who will be designing it, make sure that they do not miss out on the internet marketing strategy.

How you describe your product, and what information you shell out to your potential customers is very important; more important than the images of the products that will adorn your website. As part of your internet marketing strategy, ask the webmaster to incorporate information based on “keywords”. Using relevant “keywords” in the content, articles, and information is important. If you are not aware, “keywords” are words that people use to search for a product on the search engines. Based on those, search engines look for information on web pages that contain the keywords. So, place relevant keywords appropriately on the titles, sub-titles, and content of the web pages. Thus, search engine optimization of your content should form an important part of your internet marketing strategy.

- Internet Marketing Strategy  Your final step is to have a suitable marketing plan to sell your product. You may have both short-term and long-term plans in place. Short-term plans include strategies that help bring in temporary traffic in large numbers. Getting people to visit your website is very important, whether or not they do the actual purchasing. Every time such people visit your website, it creates awareness about your company and the product. This strategy cannot be depended on all the time. As part of your short term internet marketing strategy, you could bank on advertising, bulleting boards and registering on popular search engines.

As part of your long-term marketing strategy, you can rely on opt-in lists. When people visit your website, give them an option to register with you to receive information about your products, and future discount offers. After having received their consent, you can send them emails about your products and special announcements. To retain your customers, offer them freebies with your products. Also, be sure that you use quality content on your website to have your customers glued to all the information you provide them from time-to-time.

Keeping in mind the simple yet effective internet marketing strategy explained above, you can ensure of online business success.
